"The churches of Asia greet you. Aquila and Priscilla greet you heartily in the Lord, with the church that is in their house." – 1 Cor 16:19
“The early concept of the church had no connection with a church building. The church was something else: a group of Christians drawn together by the Holy Spirit in a place where they worked together in a certain form...” – Francis Schaeffer, The Church at the End of the Twentieth Century
“Greet the brethren who are in Laodicea, and Nymphas and the church that is in his house.” – Col 4:15
“In many ways an early church gathering was like a spiritual potluck. Rather than a single person bringing a sermon and everyone else sitting silently, listening to a lecture, each person brought something to share.” – Richard Jacobson

WHAT IS HOUSE CHURCH?
House churches have been gaining a lot of attention recently. While some might think that house church or simple church is just another phenomenon that will inevitably die, we believe that it is a restoration of the church to God's original intent.
MOREWHAT WE DO
We make disciples of Jesus Christ resulting in the multiplication of house or simple churches in neighborhoods or communities, in schools and in the workplace in the Philippines and beyond. This is our major thrust.
MORETRANSFORMED COMMUNITIES
Traditionally “ministry success” is measured by the number of churches planted and the number of people attending those churches. However we believe that a real barometer of a ministry’s effectiveness is transformed individuals, families and communities.
MOREOFWs AND HOUSE CHURCHES
The Stargrass Coalition sees every Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) as a reproducing disciple in countries they work in. House or simple churches are the ideal expression of church in many of these countries.
MORECULTURE-SENSITIVE
We are seeking to develop an environment for culture-sensitive expressions of God’s kingdom. Our goal in this regard is to become an authentic and organic Filipino house church through contextualization of the gospel.

The Charismatic movement broke down two of the three pillars of Christendom: the concept of clergy (holy men) and sanctuary (holy places). It also crossed denominational lines, especially the Catholic – Protestant divide. But there is yet one more pillar to break down.

The house or simple church journey is not an easy one. Most house church practitioners started their journey like a novice traveler stepping out into the unknown, down a path that went against the grain of traditional Christianity. Some had have to leave institutions that provided for their needs and as a result ended up struggling financially.
